Step1X-3D
Description
Step1X-3D is an open model from StepFun that makes textured 3D models from an image. It works in two stages: the first builds an untextured mesh, the second adds textures to it, and both are exported as GLB files. Textures are made by a module based on SD-XL, which aims for consistency between views and supports transferring 2D controls such as LoRA to 3D. Code, weights, training code and a dataset of 800 thousand 3D assets were released in May 2025 under the Apache 2.0 license. The authors say the standard pipeline needs about 27 GB of GPU memory. An official demo is on Hugging Face.
