OpenCode
Description
An open source AI coding agent. It works through your project, writes and edits code and runs commands while you steer and review the changes. It runs in the terminal, as a desktop app (beta) and as an IDE extension; a plan mode lets it suggest changes without making them. OpenCode is not tied to one model company: you connect your own API keys for providers such as Claude, GPT and Gemini (the site lists 75+ providers), sign in with a GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT account, or use models from the project's own OpenCode Zen service. Local models through Ollama, LM Studio and llama.cpp are supported via an OpenAI-compatible address. The code is published under the MIT license. Installation is by script, npm, Homebrew and other package managers; the desktop app is available for macOS, Windows and Linux, and on Windows the project recommends WSL for the terminal version. The interface and site are in English; the repository README is also translated into Russian.

OpenCode says a breach in its older Console system exposed API keys belonging to 1.4% of users, enabling unauthorized AI usage and charges; the app and CLI were not affected. The incident highlights how restrictive model safeguards can hinder cyber-defense, pushing firms toward less restricted open-weight AI. #OpenCode #Cybersecurity #AI #APISecurity
