An AI chat in the IDE offers a choice of agents: Junie, Claude Agent and Codex are included in the JetBrains AI subscription, and other agents can be connected through ACP. You can use models from different providers or your own local models and API keys, and connect tools over MCP. It also provides code completion and next-edit suggestions, commit message generation, explanation of errors, inline documentation, Git conflict resolution, review of uncommitted changes and unit test generation.
