Opera Neon
Description
A browser from Opera with built-in AI agents. An agent reads open pages, compares tabs, fills in forms and carries out tasks right in the browser. You see the plan and each step on screen, and you can pause it or take over. The built-in agents need a subscription.
There is a chat with models from different companies, research agents, image and video creation, coding, scheduled tasks and memory of your preferences. Outside AI tools connect to the browser through MCP and a command-line tool. The MCP connection is read-only by default, and clicks or form filling need your permission. The usual Opera features are inside too, such as the ad blocker.
It runs on macOS and Windows. A subscription and the MCP connection need an Opera account.

Opera introduces WebAI, a new browser standard enabling local AI model execution directly on user devices without cloud reliance or subscriptions. Supporting open-weight models like Google Gemma and Apple's on-device AI, it ensures privacy by keeping data on-device. Available now in preview for Opera One, with Opera GX and Neon coming soon. Local processing offers control and privacy but requires stronger hardware. #Opera #WebAI #LocalAI #Privacy #BrowserAI
