n8n
Description
A workflow automation platform from n8n GmbH. You build automations visually as a chain of nodes that connect apps and services, and you can drop into code where needed. It has more than 500 native integrations, can call any API over HTTP, and includes nodes for building AI agents on top of language models, with human approval steps, guardrails and evaluations. Workflows can also be exposed to external agents and coding assistants over MCP. Version history and Git-based control are supported. n8n can run in the vendor's cloud or on your own server, for example in Docker. The self-hosted version is published under the Sustainable Use License, a source-available "fair-code" license rather than a standard open-source one: it allows use for your own internal business purposes or for personal and non-commercial use, and forbids offering the software to others as a service. Some enterprise features need a separate paid Enterprise License. A comparable visual tool that runs only in the vendor's cloud is Make.
